Cydonia Mensae: Face on Mars,

* 1976: Viking I & Viking II undertake a massive photographic survey of Mars. 18 of this pictures were taken at 40.9° North latitude, 9.45° West Longitude, a region known as Cydonia Mensae. Five of these pics showed a rock formation that looked like a human face ('Face on Mars'). In 1993, a group of academics endorsed a report by Profesor S. V. McDaniel on the martian anomalies. The report presented evidence that the 'Face' was artificial.

* Using a photoclinometry technique, Dr. Mark Carlotto of the Analitic Sciences Corporation, Boston, concluded that what seems to be a face in the photographs is actually a face on the ground... Under computer enhancement, it has been shown that the'helmet' of the 'Face on Mars' is decorated with evenly spaced diagonal stripes. There are teeth in the mouth, and the eye, under contrast control, reveals a brow, an eyelid and a raised pupil outlines in contour lines. Computer reconstruction of the 3-D face shows three-dimensional symmetry. This level of detail more or less rules out the possibility that the face was formed by wind erosion.

* Under computer enhancements, it has been shown that the 'helmet' of the Face on Mars is decorated with evenly spaced diagonal stripes. Computer reconstruction of the 3-D face shows three-dimensional symmetry... Apart from the Face, Cydonia Mensae has a number of structures unlike anything seen elsewhere on Mars. In 1993, the architect R. Fierteck completed a four-year-study of the Mars structures. He concluded: It is very doubtful that the complex at Cydonia as a whole is anything but artificial...

* Several of the structures appear pyramidal in shape. One of them, discovered in 1980 by DiPietro and Molenaar, is now referred to as the D&M Pyramid in their honour. In 1988, the geographer and cartographer Erol Toron created a geometrical model of the D&M Pyramid. His model turned out to be unique, a mathematically rich figure that incorporates acceptable values for the square roots of 2, 3, 5, and pi, and the Golden Section ratio of 1:1.618. The value of the square roots of 2, 3, and 5 are generated by a geometrical figure commonly known as the vesica piscis (see http://dyg2.tripod.com/id6.htm/), which was widely used as a religious symbol in ancient times. The Golden Section is known to every student of art, since the use of the ratio in composition produces pictures that are inherently pleasing to the human eye... R. C. Hoagland, the founder of the Mars Mission & the Interprise Mission, made extensive measurements of all the curious structures in the Cydonia region and discovered evidence that much of the complex was laid out in accordance with the principles of Sacred geometry (see http://dyg2.tripod.com/id6.htm/)

* 1984: Meteorite ALH 84001, crashed into the Allen Hils area of Antartica 12-13,000 years ago, discovered by scientists. The rock contained glass bubbles trapping gases of the same composition as the martian atmosphere. Inside the meteorite were chalky structures that contained the fossil signature of very primitive microscopic life forms. The rock is estimated to be 4.5 billion² years old. At the time the fossil bacteria were alive, the martian climate was hot and wet, much more conductive to the evolution of life...

* The oldest fossils found on Earth are 3.46 billion years old discovered in a layer of chert from Western Australia. They are the remains of microscopic bacteria quite similar to those that left their signature on the martian rock. But the martian life forms have been dated to 3.6 billion years old, more than 100 million years earlier than their Earth counterparts. If the pace of evolution on both planets was roughly similar, then intelligence could have been appeared on Mars 100 million years earlier than it did on earth.
